Online retailer of imported and collectible goods

Transfigure Toys was started with a university friend in 2003, and over 4 years we grew the business to be Australia’s biggest source of imported and collectible goods. At it’s peak the site had $25,000/month in sales and over 1000 registered customers.

In September 2007 we successfully negotiated the sale of the business to new management.

My Involvement

Business Planning

Wrote and executed a business plan.

Supplier sourcing

Sourced and forged sound relationships with suppliers across the US, Asia and Australia.

Marketing

Conducted all marketing exercises, including weekly email newsletters and organizing local events.

Customer Service
Dealt with customers in-person, over the phone and via email on a daily basis.

eCommerce
Designed and implemented both a retail website and credit card invoicing system.

The website was sold at the end of 2007 as myself and my business partner moved on to other things. The handover process lasted 2 months and involved a large amount of training across all aspects of the business.
